Gerald Don 'Snake' Woods

Gerald Don Woods, 73, of Apache, passed on Jan. 31, 2024, at Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton. He was born April 27, 1950, in Apache, to Hadley and Juanita (Lindsey) Woods.
Gerald enjoyed going to Little Sahara State Park and climbing the biggest sand dunes he could find with his dune buggy that he had built himself. He rode motorcycles all his life. At one time, he and a few guys from Apache had their own biker gang. They called themselves The Hogsmen. Gerald was also well known for his painting skills. Everybody always talked about how good he was at painting. He was a painter for 30 plus years.
He leaves behind his daughter, Shelly Woods, of Apache; two granddaughters: Autumn Schmitt and her fiancé Chase McCuller of Fletcher and Mya Schafer of Apache; one grandson, Britton Schmitt of Fletcher; one sister, Linda Livingston and one brother, Gayle Woods, both of Duncan.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Hadley and Juanita Woods; two brothers: Dennis Woods and Charles Woods; and a nephew, Mark Woods.
Graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5, 2024, at Fairview Cemetery in Apache, with David Williams officiating.
