Marth Billingsley

Martha “Maurine” Billingsley passed from this earth on June 19, 2024, in Ardmore.
Daughter of the late Fred Sam and Daniel Preston (Christopher) Tindall, Maurine was born June 28, 1932, in Nacogdoches, Texas.
She was the sole survivor of her immediate family. Preceded in death by her five siblings: Steve Tindall, Charlene King, Hulon Tindall, Fred (Buck) Tindall and John Tindall, all of Texas. Beginning life as a family working the farm during the Great Depression, they all learned the lifelong values of hard work and perseverance.
After graduating high school Maurine attended Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas. While attending university she worked as “soda jerk” and was proud to be a beauty queen representing Swift Brothers. Maurine married Travis Billingsley Jan. 17 , 1953, in Pasadena, Texas, while attending the University of Houston after which they settled in Nacogdoches, Texas. They acquired their first auto dealership, Tipton Billingsley Ford, Lufkin, Texas, in 1963 at the age of 34. With more opportunity they moved to Ardmore in 1975 to begin Billingsley Ford Lincoln, Ardmore. They were members of the First United Methodist Church Lufkin and Ardmore.
Maurine continued to devote her time between family and work for the new company for basically, the next 40 years. Travis and Maurine leave behind a family business legacy that over 61 years has grown and prospered to five locations with over 200 business associates.
Travis proceeded Maurine in death on Feb. 21, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her great-grandson Travino Billingsley.
She is survived by their three children: Karen Kay Maresh and her husband Terry, Des Moines Iowa, Michael Travis Billingsley and his wife Anne, Ardmore and Craig Billingsley and his wife Janie of Lawton; seven loving grandchildren: Travis Wright, Tracie Wright, Sabra Reynolds, Grannon Billingsley, Colin Bullard, Chris Bullard and Anna Temple; and 11 great-grandchildren: Tindall, Tyler, Lillie, Mililani, Barrett, Gracie, James, Asher, Blake, Jack and Annie.
Serving as bearers will be Grannon Billingsley, Dr. James Pat Telford, Terry Maresh, Travis Wright, Chris Bullard and Collin Bullard.
She will be missed.
