Funeral service for Kenneth Raymond Lockhart will be Friday, June 13, 2025 at 10:30 am in Cache Schools Auditorium with John Webb officiating.
Burial with military honors will follow at Cache Cemetery under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.
The family will greet friends from 5-7 pm on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at the funeral home.
Kenneth passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025 in Oklahoma City after a long illness at the age of 81. Kenneth was born on April 16, 1944 in Escanaba, Michigan to William Orville and Ruby (Shepley) Lockhart. He was the second oldest son of 12 kids. He graduated from high school and immediately joined the US Army in 1961 and finished AIT at Fort Campbell Kentucky. In 1963 he was stationed at Fort Sill as a combat engineer, where he met the love of his life, Shirley Risinger. In 1964 he left for Fort Wainwright, Alaska. In 1965 he came back to Fort Sill and that same year married Shirley on August 12, 1965 in Mayville, Michigan. On May 16, 1966 Carol was born and two weeks later he left for Ankae, South Vietnam for one year. He came back to Fort Sill in 1967 for a short period before heading back to South Vietnam. At the end of 1968 he came back to Fort Sill. In April of 1969 Shirlene was born. In October of 1969 he was discharged from the Army. He was awarded 1st Calvary division combat certificate. He loved sharing his military background stories with his grandkids, especially Quintin. After the military, he became a plumber with Archie Dupler from Nov 1969 to 1977. From 1977-1984 he worked as a plumber for tribal houses before becoming a plumber full time for himself at the end of 1984. From 1988-2003 he helped his wife Shirley run the Wichita Village Apartments. He led the maintenance team and ran the apartments for the last five years, when Shirley’s health declined.
Kenneth was a member of the Cache Christian Church. One of his favorite memories was taking his grandkids and Shirlene back to Michigan to see his hometown, where he grew up.
Survivors include: grandkids Jessica Ballou and husband Casey, Quintin Addy, Carla Kinman and husband, Jeremy, Cinnamon Flinn and husband, Rocky, Lindsey Carter, Taylor Carter, and Ryan Carter. great grandkids: Cayleigh, Cambree and Jaxon Kinman, Adrian and Andre Goodson, Jayden and Cooper Crosby, Grayson and Corbyn Flinn, and Archie Carter, sister-in-law, Leona Turner, and, brother-in-law, Carrol Risinger, brother, John Lockhart, sisters, Elaine Zalut, Vickey Chandler and husband, Denny, June and Janis Buckovich, Laurie Lafond and husband, Jim, all of Michigan, special friends, Tom and Rena Weston, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Shirley, daughters, Carol and Shirlene Carter, brothers, Bill and Joe Lockhart, sisters, Betty Savola, Eileen Timonen and Judy Hranic, parents, in-laws, Claude and Willis Risinger, and sister-in-law, Claudine Hill
