Funeral service for June Moss will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 23, 2025 in Paradise Valley Baptist Church with Gary Neighbors officiating.

Burial will follow in Paradise Valley Cemetery under direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

Carol "June" Moss, 81, died Wednesday, June 18, 2025 in Lawton, Oklahoma. She was born on October 21, 1943 to Wayne and Betty Jo Harris in Walters, Oklahoma. The family moved to Lawton, Oklahoma in 1948. She attended school in Lawton at Taft Elementary, Jefferson Elementary, Central Junior High and Lawton High School, from where she graduated in
1961.

She moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma and worked there from 1961 to 1964. She then moved to Norman, Oklahoma in 1964 and worked for attorneys in Oklahoma City until 1968. Returning to Lawton, June worked for Githen Rhoads and then to work for the District Attorney's office in Lawton for over 11 years until 1979 and then as Bailiff for Judge Winston Raburn. During those periods of time she was active in and held offices in the Business and Professional Women's Club, was a charter member of the Comanche County Legal Secretaries Association and was a charter member of the State District Attorneys Legal Secretaries Association.

She began her Civil Service Career at Fort Sill in 1982 at the Staff & Faculty Battalion, the
Fire-Finder Radar Field Office, TRADOC Systems Manager's office and then to Combat
Developments. In 2007, she retired from Civil Service in the Administration Office of the Defense Finance and Accounting Service. She then worked at the law offices of Bill Doolin, Art South andVickie Leyja for fourteen years until October 2021. But "The Best" job she ever had was church secretary for Paradise Valley Baptist Church. She began this new chapter October 2021 and worked until present. June loved working and meeting people after having worked over 64 years of her life.

June is survived by her best friend and life partner, Steve Hovis. She loved helping Steve with
street rods, going to swap meets, cruising and car shows. She loved listening to music and was an avid college football fan as well as a huge NASCAR Cup racing fan, always cheering on her favorite driver, Kyle Larson. She enjoyed any outdoor activity, especially yard work, church activities and helping others whenever possible.

She is also survived by her son, Scott Moss of Fort Worth, Texas; a sister, Rita Ballard and
her husband Chuck of Walters, Oklahoma; a brother, Bill Harris and his wife Linda, and
a brother- in-law, Bill Walker all of Lawton. She is also survived by one niece, Lacy and her
husband Dustin Hill of Chickasha, Oklahoma; as well as her nephews, James Barber and his wife Melody; Hank Walker and his wife Amanda, all of Lawton, and Clint Walker and his wife Melissa of Chickasha, Chris Harris, Toby Harris both of Lawton; several great nieces and great nephews and many cousins. She treasured Kara Fehring who was a daughter to her and a frequent companion. June always had many friends and rarely met a stranger.

June was predeceased by her only grandchild, Morgan Elizabeth Moss, her sister, Patti
Walker, her parents Wayne and Betty Jo Harris, her mother, Patsy "Pat" Harris, her paternal
grandparents, Wilsie Harris and wife, Ruby Marie; and maternal grandparents, Elijah Berry and wife Flueretta Ladora.
