A celebration of Pastor David D. McCracken's life and ministry will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at New Life Assembly of God Church, 501 B Ave, Cache, OK where his family, friends, and members of the community will gather to honor his memory and give thanks for his extraordinary life of service.
David, a faithful shepherd, devoted leader and cherished servant of God, entered his eternal rest on November 16, 2025, after a lengthy illness, surrounded by love, he stepped into the presence of his Lord and Savior whom he served wholeheartedly throughout his life.
Viewing will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2025 and 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 21, 2025 at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home. David was born on August 26, 1952 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Lester and Dorothy McCracken. David dedicated his life to ministry from an early age. His calling was unmistakable. He possessed a profound love for scripture, a gift for preaching with clarity and compassion, and a deep passion for walking along side people in every season of their lives. Throughout his over 30 years of pastoring New Life Assembly of God in Cache, OK, he pastored with humility, warmth, and unwavering commitment, touching lives through his wisdom, encouragement and steadfast faith.
Pastor McCracken was not only known for his lengthy sermons, but for the way he lived them. He was a pastor who celebrated joys, sat quietly with the hurting, and truly believed in the transformable hope of Jesus Christ for every person he met. His leadership strengthened his congregation, his prayers comforted many and his example of grace and perseverance will remain a lasting legacy.
Pastor McCracken is survived by his wife, Carol, of Cache, OK; his daughter and son in law, Lisa and Jim Bradford, of Newella, OK; his son and daughter in law, Brandon and Kyla McCracken, of Choctaw, OK and his youngest son and daughter in law, Justin and Crismon McCracken, of Cache, OK; his grandchildren, Kayla McCracken, Kamryn McCracken, Kanon McCracken, and Knox McCracken; his brother and sister in law, Paul and Laurie McCracken, of Edmond, OK; his sister and brother in law, Cindy and Billy Cullins, of Cache, OK; his brother in Law, Jerry Prater, of Cache, OK; his mother in law, Dortha Prater, of Cache, OK; his nieces and nephews, many beloved family members; lots of friends; and church members who will forever remember his strong spirit and guiding presence.
Pastor McCracken was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Dorothy McCracken; his father in law, Adrian Prater; and his sisters in law, Sandra Brown, Denice Massie, and Judy Prater.
Though he will be deeply missed, we rejoice that he now rests in the arms of his savior, hearing the words he longed for: Enter in, My good and faithful servant.
