Funeral Mass for Damon A. Doye will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at Holy Family Catholic Church with Rev. Philip Seeton, pastor and Deacon Jim Cerrone officiating.

Burial will follow in Flower Mound Cemetery under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

Damon A. Doye, age 90, of Lawton, Oklahoma much loved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather died March 11, 2026.  He was the son of Fred and Zelma (Bott) Doye, born on November 15, 1935, in Lawton. He went to rural Woodlawn school, graduated from Lawton High in 1952 and then earned a two year degree in agriculture at Cameron College in 1954. He married Georgia Hoskins on October 3, 1955. Together they raised registered Hereford cattle under the name of Mello D Hereford Farms. He was a member of the former Cotton County Hereford Breeders and Red River Valley Hereford Association and was a lifetime member of the American Hereford Association. 

Damon and Georgia’s children are Damona, Cecilia, Bernadine and Thad. The family enjoyed summer vacations to all of the lower 48 states, including frequent trips to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. The family was named Comanche County Farm Bureau Farm Family of the Year in 1977.

Damon served on the Flower Mound Cemetery Board for 65 years and chaired the flag committee for the annual Memorial Day services for more than 50 years. He served on the Comanche County Farm Bureau Board of Directors for 45 years and served as Secretary for 30 years. He was honored in 2025 for 40 years of service on the Board of the Comanche County Conservation District and was serving as Vice President at the time of his death. Damon and Georgia were long time 4-H volunteers and he managed the horticulture exhibits at the county fair for decades. Damon was named an OSU Master Agronomist in 1996. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed birdwatching.

Survivors include his loving wife of 70 years, Georgia, four children--Damona Doye of Stillwater, OK, Cecilia Fuhrmann (Arnold) of Gainesville, Texas, Bernadine Metzinger (Kurt) of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Thad Doye (Marla), Walters --and grandchildren Crystal Bayer (Phil), Amber Harrison (Tyler), Cletus Fuhrmann, Abe Fuhrmann (Amelia); Camille Metzinger (Gavin); Christann Dilks (Shane), Chasen Doye, and Cortlin Francis (Taylor). Other survivors include a niece Theresa Hrncir of Durant and two nephews, Robert Wolf of Lawton and Jim Wolf (Marla) of Tuttle and 24 great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Zelma and Aunt Mae Bott and son-in-law, Harry Mapp.
