Funeral service for Janette Malone will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 2026 in First Baptist Church, Geronimo with Rev. Steve Mallow and Rev. John Cullison officiating.
Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens under direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.
The family will greet friends from 5-7 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
Janette Malone died Sunday, March 15, 2026, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 90. She was born June 24, 1935, in Geronimo, Oklahoma, to Lee A. and Sophia (Sanmann) Baughman. Janette grew up in Geronimo and graduated from Geronimo High School in 1953. She married Bill R. Malone on May 1, 1955, in Seminole, Texas.
Following high school, Janette worked as a bookkeeper for American National Bank in Lawton. After her marriage, she and Bill moved to Detroit, Michigan, where she continued her banking career. Later, she returned to Oklahoma and worked for Malone Oil Company until her retirement in 1991.
Janette was a member of First Baptist Church in Geronimo and had also been a longtime member of Cameron Baptist Church in Lawton, where she faithfully volunteered in the church nursery for many years. She treasured time spent with her family and also enjoyed attending quilt shows and traveling with her sisters.
She is survived by her husband, of the home, her children and their spouses, Mike and Teri Malone, Castle Rock, Colorado, Karen and Mike Battles, Sachse, Texas, and Randy and Suzanne Malone, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; her sisters, Sophia Porter, Patricia Murphy and Alcie Baughman; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Her parents, her infant daughter, Kathleen J. Malone, her daughter and son-in-law, Pam and George Crow, four sisters, six brothers and three grandchildren, Justin, Chad and George, Jr. preceded her in death.
