Donnie Lee McSwain

August 17, 2026

Donnie Lee McSwain was 45 at the time of his passing.
He was born Dec. 8, 1980, with his twin brother, Ronnie McSwain, to George and Joyce McSwain. He was born and raised in Lakeland, Florida, and passed away on Saturday, July 11, at his home in Indiahoma, Oklahoma.
True to his Comanche heritage, Donnie was very nomadic in his personal and professional life. After graduating with some of his lifelong friends from George Jenkins in ’99, he embarked on a journey from being a manager at Steak ‘n Shake in Lakeland, to working at the airport in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, to working at the post office in Oklahoma. His ambition led him to acquiring land for the Comanche Tribe and working toward a tribally owned brokerage with his experience in real estate.
Donnie had a generous nature, giving of his time and finances readily to those he cared for. Always the life of the party, he had an easy smile and a contagious laugh. His riches were the times he had and shared with friends and family. He made friends wherever he went and had a deep connection with all of them. You never had to question where you stood with him. If you were his friend, you felt it—or you would receive a 3 a.m. text or call to remind you.
Donnie had no children but cherished his position as the favorite uncle. Lainey Tarrien, Josie Tarrien, Oscar Hernandez, Julia Hernandez, Abigail Hernandez, Holly McSwain, and Kal-el McSwain were some of his favorite targets whenever he was looking for someone to pick on. Donnie is survived by his sisters, Prairie Tarrien and Donna McSwain; his twin brother, Ronnie McSwain; and more close friends than can be counted.
