Funeral Service for Rose Nauni will be at 11 AM on Friday, September 25, 2026, at Watchetaker Hall, with James Ikner, Matthew Asetamy, and Herm Van Galen officiating.
Prayer Service will be at 7 PM on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Watchetaker Hall. Burial will follow at Post Oak Cemetery under the direction of Comanche Nation Funeral Home.
Rose Edith (Tahchawwickah) Nauni, 97, went to be with the Lord on September 21, 2026, with her family by her side. She was born on March 11, 1929, at her homeplace, in Indiahoma, OK to Pete Coffey (Jacob Tahchawwickah) & Maggie Niedo Coffey.
Rose married Haddon Harry Nauni, Sr. and they lived in Walters, OK, Wichita, KS, Indiahoma, OK, and Cache, OK. She graduated from Cache High School in 1948.
She was a proud full blooded tribal member of the Comanche Nation.
Rose enjoyed doing the International Festival in Lawton for 47 years. She worked at Haggar Slacks, Temple, OK; Walters School, Teacher’s Aide, Walters Public Schools & Fruhauf Uniforms, Wichita, KS. She retired from Indian Health Services, & Lawton Service Unit. Rose had Church Memberships at Cache First Nazarene Church, Cache, OK; and Comanche Reformed Church General Synod Representative
She is survived by her children: Rosalind Asetamy (Matt), Cache, OK, Nancy Nauni, Lawton, OK, Mary Crystal Nauni of the home, Cache, OK; Grandchildren: Nenah Rider, Marla Rose Nauni, Jarrell Wahahrockah, Norman Nauni, Jr., Anthony Nauni, Aleesia Hannah, Talon Alandzes; Great Grandchildren: Mariah Wahahrockah, Alyssa Wahahrockah, Branden Rider, Tresten Rider, Malia Ramos, Ruby Martin; Great Great Grandchildren: Lyric Wahahrockah, Valle Peterson, Truce Wahahrockah-Jenkins, Santos, Hayden Rider, Hadlee Rider, Hesten Rider, Matthew Norman Rider; Brothers: Pete Coffey, Jr., Sam Devenney, & Lee Heath; and many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
She is preceded in death by Spouse: Haddon Harry Nauni, Sr.; Son: Norman Nauni, Sr.; Parents: Pete Coffey (Jacob Tahchawwickah) & Maggie Niedo Coffey; Grandparents: Ahah, Joe & Maggie Niedo; Brothers: Nick Tahchawwickah, Sr., Allen Tahchawwickah, Harry Wauahdooah, & Perry Heath; Sisters: Marguerite Parker, Vida Woommavovah, Velma Kemble, Mary Ellen Morris, Helen Cable, Sarah Woodard, Marie Totite Cooper.
