Shakirr Shi-he Wan'ya Cogdell

Funeral service for Shakirr Shi-he Wan’ya Cogdell, 26, of Lawton, OK was held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Salt of the Earth Ministries at 2209 NW 25th Street.

Shakirr departed this life on Sunday, April 2, 2023, in Lawton, OK.

Shakirr was born Dec. 28, 1996, in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Clifton Cogdell Jr. and La Tonya S. Cogdell. He was the youngest of two children. He was a very smart and educated young man and graduated from Cache High School in Cache, OK. His love for God was evident in how he treated others. He was a true provider that love unconditionally and a confidant that was trustworthy. He was selfless and shared whatever he had to help others. Always encouraged others with a kind word, a funny joke, a compliment, and he had a humble heart of gold. Shakirr gave his life to God on Oct. 19, 2022.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, aunts and uncle. Shakirr leaves a legacy of love, peace, and faith.

Loved ones to cherish his memories are: mom, La Tonya Cogdell; dad, Clifton Cogdell, Jr.; sister, Tamaya Cogdell; niece, Serenity Cogdell of Lawton, Oklahoma; grandparents of Greenville, NC; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
